Youd never guess that a company could transform Simon--the electronic game where you recall patterns of color--into a stylish and entertaining dance contest, but thats exactly what Sega did with Space Channel 5. Originally released for the Dreamcast and now available for the Game Boy Advance courtesy of THQ, Space Channel 5 puts you into the shoes of Ulala, a leggy reporter assigned to observe an alien invasion thats occurring aboard a space station. Rather quickly, Ulala joins in the fight against the aliens, but not with guns or bombs as youd expect. Instead, Ulalas weapon is the ability to mimic the dancing moves of the invaders, which allows her to free their human slaves and incapacitate their leaders. As you can imagine, something was lost in the conversion of these dance numbers from 3D graphics on the Dreamcast to 2D graphics on the Game Boy Advance, but the real problem with the conversion is that the timing of the dance moves is much less forgiving on the handheld.

Nice machine - shame about the screen  |

I was walking throught town on the 22nd of June and just decided to buy a Gameboy Advance. Id thought about buying one in the run up to the release date and decided against it. But... I went and bought it anyway and Im glad I did! Having played both Mario Bros 2 and F-Zero on the SNES and then on the GBA there is very little to differentiate between them. The graphics are clear and bright and even with F-Zeros speed you can still see the tracks + the addition of the two shoulder buttons gives a lot more control. The only two gripes about this smart machine are: a) The sound is still a little tinny from the original speaker (Its great through headphones though!) b) The screen is a little hard to see. An option to backlight the screen via a switch so you could turn it off in good light and not drain the batteries (remember the GameGear?) would have been an idea, or even just to be able to alter the contrast/brightness. Final verdict: Cracking little machine with all of the back catalogue of original games available to play NOW! I want Mario Bros 3!!

Most people probaly rember the gamegear from Sega, well at the time i was wondering why gameboy hadnt done a system, now i know the reason is that they were making the best hand held device ever. Super Nintendo fans will love the gameboy all the old classic games now handheld. The graphics are also equal to the playstation so its good gameing.Other good features are it can be a conroler for the much awaited game cube. bad points when playing a game boy game the game sticks up cause its bigger than the gb advance games, so it can look a bit stupid, another bad things is no back light, but u can solve that with a little plug in light. Over all its a good buy and makes all games look good on it.

Wonderfull, Simply Wonderfull. about the same size as a GBC on its side and with are larger screen! it is very light even with batterys and a game in it the batterys will last for hours at a time and power packs are a great way of saving money on batterys.
the graphics are as good as or even, better than the ps1s and yes it is a little dark, but if you are outside or near a light then you will be ok, or if it is a problem then just get some floodlights or something like it and a s long as you treat it with care the screen will be free from scratchs ( i got mine on the day of release and still it is fine. the thing is very strong, i have droped mine and it has bounced down the stairs and been fone, but do be carefull, the screen will smash if you are too rough with it too much. what more can i say, great sound, great looks, great games, great graphics, great feel and great too play if you dont have it then get it.
